Award submissions | Honours nominations | Tenders and grants
I write award submissions and nominations that give judges exactly what they’re looking for. In 2024, my entries won Placemaking NSW five heritage and placemaking awards, three of them outright. In 2026, my nomination saw Placemaking NSW’s bridge maintenance supervisor, David Glasson, awarded the Public Service Medal.

How I work
Criteria first. I start with the judging criteria and work backwards, asking what evidence would answer each question most convincingly.
Then the evidence. I interview the people involved and dig through reports, presentations and internal material to find the proof, the numbers and the moments that make judges sit up.
Every entry its own story. When an organisation enters several categories, it’s easy for the entries to blur together. I build each one around the most specific criteria in its category, so no two read the same.
For people, not just projects. Honours nominations need a different touch. For David Glasson’s Public Service Medal, I interviewed him several times and reviewed a wealth of material about his work, to tell the story of his service to Pyrmont Bridge and of the people he mentored along the way.

Case studies
Award submissions for Placemaking NSW: five 2024 awards, including three wins.
Tone of voice and website copy for White Bay Power Station: the launch website for a venue whose revival went on to win the Judges’ Choice Award at the 2024 National Trust (NSW) Heritage Awards.
Got an award deadline coming up? Tell me about it. The earlier I’m involved, the stronger the entry.
